Foam Roofing

the only total silicone roof that makes total ecological sense

A flat or low-slope roof that will last for 20+ years will need to...

  • Waterproof the building and protect the assets from the elements
  • Offer maximum wind uplift resistance
  • Expand and contract with the building movements
  • Provide proper fire ratings
  • Insulate your building for improved energy efficiency
  • Maintain flexibility over a wide range of temperatures
  • Withstand foot traffic, hail, ice and other impacts

In addition to the above requirements, building owners also want the lowest possible cost over the lifetime of the roof, minimized repair costs and distractions associated with them. Our recommendation: a spray-applied polyurethane roof (often referred to as a SPF roof) with a carefully calibrated range of coatings, joint sealants, pedestrian traffic system, etc will provide the reliable performance, peace of mind and lowest possible cost/benefit ratio that building owners desire.

Our recommended solution is the WDG System 14 Total Silicone Roof System. This system features all 14 elements required to build a performing industrial or commercial roof. More importantly, all 14 components are provided by the same pioneering manufacturer, guaranteeing full technical compatibility among them.

CPi is an authorized distributor for WDG’s trusted and proven System 14 across 41 states of the US.

Because every roof is different and offers its own unique set of challenges, a practical roofing system has to be flexible and versatile enough to handle all design challenges. Not only is WDG’s System 14 the only single-source system satisfying these requirements, it is also environmentally responsible in a number of aspects. For starters, SPF foam roofs lead the pack in terms of reduced carbon footprint. In addition, System 14 components contain a healthy percentage of recycled roof materials, which reduces landfills while saving money. What is equally impressive is that our foam roofs can be “renewed” indefinitely if properly maintained, including recoating every 10 to 20 years. WDG is so convinced of their quality that they will write renewable warranties for up to 20 years at a time (subject to terms and conditions; please call CPi for details).

The best part is the long-term performance. Our spray-in-place polyurethane foam stabilizes and insulates the roof deck while providing a superior substrate for our full line of silicone waterproofing products. The system is seamless and uses no mechanical fasteners, which avoids typical roof system failures such as moisture absorption and outright leaks.

Loss Factor: this is the difference between theoretical and actual yield. We at CPI feel that 25-35% is a conservative yet realistic number. This is caused by many factors such as overspray, expected waste, skin formation of the foam, ambient temperature, thermo shock on cool substrates, etc.

As an example, applicators will see as much as 10 to 15% difference just due to ambient conditions such as a hot or cold roof deck.
